Gaze is a magazine that celebrates the multiplicity of female perspectives.

We have been told stories from a masculine perspective for so long that we are in desperate need of alternative storytelling! With this ambition in mind, Gaze, the magazine of female perspectives, was born in 2020. Presenting intimate storytelling, immersive reporting, and a ton of photography, it is an inclusive platform for the female gaze, both in text and image, entirely designed and created by women and non-binary people, that explores the social, intimate, and cultural aspects of womanhood.

A forum where twice a year, the voices of grand dames and debutantes, young and old, queer and straight, the expected and the uninvited, are gathered together in a precious coffee table print edition in both French and English.

As far removed as possible from standardised reports, from throwaway magazines and from stories that are old news five minutes after being printed, each issue is designed for you to cherish and keep. A sensitive and inspiring perspective on intersectional feminism.

Clarence Edgard-Rosa
Founder and director of publication

A journalist and author specialising in feminist issues, Clarence worked with numerous publications including the French feminist magazine Causette before becoming digital editor-in-chief of Marie Claire and a columnist for French public radio station France Inter. She has written two books on feminism (here and there). She is as interested in the mechanics of the glass ceiling as she is in the standards of beauty infused by Instagram, and even more in the women who explode the shackles. She also teaches and is director of a master's degree at French journalism school IEJ.

Mélissa Chidiac
Journalist

Mélissa is a French-Lebanese journalist. Passionate about fashion, culture and late night philosophical conversations, she has made her permanent quest for stories to tell, her profession. She is particularly interested in the intersectional feminist issues dear to Gaze and the deconstruction of clichés about the suburbs.

Laura Lafon
Art director of Photography

Laura Lafon is a photographer and a photo editor. The stories people tell her and the stories she tells herself are the starting point for her photographic work. She is also behind Lusted Men, an open collection of erotic pictures of men. She loves images, making them, collecting them, producing them... she sees photography as a game with enormous power: to represent new visions of the world.

Studio project manager

Stella started her career in museums, where she officiated as an exhibition assistant, then learned journalism in the newsroom of the French design magazine Etapes. She is passionate about the bridges that link visual cultures to social issues, especially feminist ones. And in her own words, she loves to "give back to Cleopatra what belongs to Cleopatra". At Gaze, she works in the creative studio and on special operations.

Adjoa Tudor
Digital Marketing Manager

After working in marketing in large companies, Adjoa decided to put her expertise to the benefit of her values: she co-founded an agency, Mandhary, which guides fashion brands towards eco-responsibility. Her mission in the Gaze team: to make the magazine gain exposure and reach more readers — in other words, to flood our world with the female gaze! Adjoa is also a specialist in inclusion-diversity.
